
Help HaitiSeveral airlines and hotel chains are now allowing travelers to donate their frequent flier miles in order to help with the devastating earthquake that has hit Haiti. American Airlines - Through February 28, 2010, AAdvantage members can earn a one-time award of 250 bonus miles for a minimum $50 donation, or 500 bonus miles for a donation of $100 or more to the American Red Cross. Choice Hotels - Choice Hotels loyalty program members can donate to the Red Cross. Continental Airlines - OnePass members may donate miles to the Red Cross or AmeriCares, a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization which responds to emergency medical needs Delta - Delta customers can donate SkyMiles to the Red Cross to aid Haiti relief efforts through SkyWish. Hilton - HHonors points may be donated in increments of 10,000. Each 10,000 HHonors point donation equals a US$25 donation. One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to the International Federation of Red Cross fund you select. Spirit Airlines - Spirit will give 5,000 FREE Spirit miles to everyone who donates at least $5 to the Red Cross, UNICEF or Yéle Haiti. Starwood - Starwood Preferred Guest members can donate loyalty points in the following amounts: 4,000 points=$50; 8,000 points=$100; 12,000-$150, and 16,000 points=$200 to the Red Cross. United Airlines - Miles donated will support the American Red Cross's efforts to help those affected by the Haiti Earthquake.
